01 — The Family
A family business built on doing things right
We were a young family when we started Eketahuna Country Meats 10 years ago — and now we’re a not so young family. We have three children aged 16, 14 and 11, and as parents we want our kids eating quality, unprocessed food as much as possible.
We also want to provide that for your family too. As the business has grown, we’ve started working with other farming families who are friends of ours and share our values. We only select the very best stock — and we know exactly where it’s come from and how it’s been raised.
“We know where every animal has come from and how it has been raised. That’s the start of a top-quality product.”

04 — Our Suppliers
We know where every animal comes from
Eketahuna Country Meats sources from a small group of trusted farming families — friends with the same values and the same commitment to quality. Here’s who’s behind the meat on your plate.
Glenburn Station
John and Helen McFadzean — along with son Lochie — have been breeding top quality stock at this beautiful coastal Wairarapa station for over 40 years. A lot of the Angus beef and lamb ECM sells comes from Glenburn. Often regarded as one of the best stations in the Wairarapa.

Freedom Farms
All ECM pork comes from the Freedom Farms group — a simple choice because they share the same animal welfare standards. Whole carcasses are bought and processed the old-fashioned way in ECM’s own butchery. No shortcuts, no water pump.

Grant and Charlotte Bennett’s farm sits under the Tararua Ranges, 15km north west of Eketahuna. 400 cows across 220ha, around 80% A2. High traceability, glass bottles, and environmental sustainability as a top priority.

A Bulls-based family company in operation since 2023. Their philosophy is simple — when the chicken comes first, the eggs speak for themselves. Gooey, vibrant, thick, creamy, fresh, rich yolks. Customers say it every time.
